You Are:
You are a passionate and inventive engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware and software. As a Firmware Staff Engineer, you bring a strong digital design background and a keen understanding of embedded software development, particularly in bare metal environments. You are motivated by the challenge of working at the cutting edge of mixed-signal and high-speed SerDes technology, continuously learning and applying new concepts to real-world solutions.
You value collaboration and clear communication, adept at working across multidisciplinary teams to drive complex projects from concept to silicon validation. Your attention to detail ensures robust, reliable firmware, while your proactive mindset helps you anticipate issues and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. You are committed to structured development practices, embracing documentation and verification as essential parts of the engineering process.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and debug bare metal firmware for advanced mixed-signal and high-speed SerDes products.
- Collaborate with digital and mixed-signal design teams to define firmware requirements and system integration strategies.
- Lead and participate in the structured development, verification, and documentation of firmware solutions.
- Execute and drive projects from specification through to silicon bring-up and functional validation on prototype test-chips.
- Support internal and external customers by troubleshooting and resolving firmware-related issues in a timely manner.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new methodologies, tools, and standards to improve firmware quality and development efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.

What You’ll Need:
- BSEE or MSEE with a minimum of 5 years of experience in bare metal firmware development and silicon testing.
- Strong understanding of digital design principles, including RTL-level concepts and methodologies.
- Proven experience with structured firmware development, verification, and comprehensive documentation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects from inception to successful completion, including silicon bring-up and validation.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Basic knowledge of SerDes standards and protocols is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell or Python is advantageous.
