Job Description and Requirements

We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You thrive at the intersection of advanced semiconductor challenges and hands-on engineering. You have spent real time in physical design, power or signal integrity closure, or custom circuit design, and you are the person colleagues turn to when things get tough at 7nm and below. You enjoy digging into a customer’s workflow, seeing what actually breaks, and working out how to fix it—not just in theory, but in code, in the lab, and in the field. You like translating gnarly technical problems into practical EDA product specs that developers can actually build. You get a kick out of partnering with both global customers and Synopsys product teams to make sure what gets shipped is what’s actually needed. You have opinions about what makes a good tool and you’re not shy about sharing them, but you’re also good at listening to what users are really saying. You are comfortable with ambiguity, you learn new platforms fast (Seascape, Python, TCL—bring it on), and you want to see your work make a difference in the chips that power tomorrow’s tech.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Collaborating with global customers, IP providers, and foundries to uncover and define design challenges in advanced-node SoCs and 3DICs (5nm, 3nm, 2nm and below)
  • Translating real-world design pain points into detailed EDA product specifications for Synopsys development teams
  • Working hands-on with the Synopsys Seascape platform to address power, signal integrity, and reliability issues across chip-package-system flows
  • Deploying and supporting state-of-the-art EDA solutions for top semiconductor companies worldwide, including on-site and remote technical engagement
  • Providing expert technical guidance and consultation to customers, helping them achieve power, signal, and reliability closure at the most advanced nodes
  • Testing new product features, validating results against actual design challenges, and feeding actionable insights back to R&D
  • Writing scripts, automations, or small tools (Python, TCL, or similar) to streamline deployment and troubleshooting for customer use cases

The Impact You Will Have

  • Enable leading-edge semiconductor companies to reliably achieve signoff at 7/5/3/2nm and beyond, reducing time-to-market for next-gen devices
  • Drive the evolution of Synopsys EDA products by ensuring customer challenges are directly reflected in product features and roadmaps
  • Accelerate adoption of the Seascape big-data platform, helping customers solve problems that used to take days in hours or minutes
  • Raise the bar for technical engagement and problem-solving in customer deployments, building trust and long-term partnerships
  • Improve the productivity and effectiveness of both customers and internal product teams by providing clear, data-driven feedback
  • Influence the direction of advanced-node power, signal, and reliability analysis tools that set the industry standard
  • Help Synopsys maintain and extend its leadership in advanced-node design enablement globally

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, VLSI, or a closely related field from a top institution
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in one or more of: ASIC physical design, power/signal integrity closure, custom circuit design and simulation
  • Strong problem-solving skills applied to real silicon design or signoff challenges
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, TCL, or similar) for automation or tool integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions with both customers and developers
  • Experience working with EDA tools for power, signal integrity, or reliability analysis is a plus
  • Familiarity with advanced-node process technologies (7nm, 5nm, 3nm, 2nm) is a plus

Who You Are

  • You ask direct, targeted questions to get to the root of technical problems and don’t stop until you have a practical answer
  • You can explain why a signoff failed or succeeded to a customer, engineer, or product manager in clear, plain language
  • You build credibility quickly with both R&D teams and external customers, because you’ve been in their shoes
  • You are comfortable jumping into new platforms and scripting environments to solve a problem, not just point it out
  • You thrive on collaboration—whether it’s a late-night call with a foundry or a whiteboard session with a tool architect
  • You keep learning, adapting to new technologies, process nodes, and customer needs as they evolve

Rewards and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
