Descriptions & Requirements
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years deep in the signoff trenches, where timing closure is not theoretical and tape-out deadlines are real. You know that the difference between a customer hitting their schedule and missing it often comes down to how well they understand the tool, the methodology, and the tradeoffs they are making at 2am three days before signoff. You are the engineer who can walk into a customer war room, look at their PrimeTime reports, and within an hour identify what is actually broken versus what just looks broken.
You do not just answer questions, you diagnose the real problem underneath the question. When a customer says "the tool is slow," you know how to figure out whether it is their netlist, their constraints, their flow, or actually the tool. You have built demos, written documentation, and delivered technical training that engineers actually reference months later. Working across time zones and with global teams does not slow you down, it is just how the work gets done. At Synopsys, you will work directly with the teams building the tools and the customers depending on them to ship silicon.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide hands-on technical support for customers during tape-out, working directly on PrimeTime, PrimeShield, PrimeClosure, PrimePower, RedHawk-SC, and HSPICE signoff flows
Drive adoption of newly developed features by running beta evaluations, building proof-of-concept demos, and translating product capabilities into customer workflows
Diagnose complex timing, power, and signoff issues across customer designs, working with both the customer engineering team and Synopsys R&D to resolve blockers
Capture customer requirements from real project pain points and translate them into actionable enhancement requests for product teams
Develop and deliver technical training content and presentations for customers and internal teams on signoff methodologies and tool usage
Review product documentation and contribute technical feedback to improve accuracy and usability for field deployment
Collaborate with global applications and R&D teams to align on customer escalations, feature priorities, and methodology best practices
The Impact You Will Have
You will directly influence whether customers meet their tape-out schedules by solving the signoff problems that would otherwise delay or derail their projects
Your technical guidance will shape how leading semiconductor companies adopt and deploy timing and power signoff flows at scale
You will be the voice of the customer inside Synopsys, ensuring that product enhancements are grounded in real-world design challenges
The training and demos you create will become the reference material that hundreds of engineers rely on to learn and apply these tools correctly
You will help prove out new features in beta, giving R&D the feedback they need to ship capabilities that actually work in production environments
Your ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues will reduce customer escalations and build long-term trust in Synopsys solutions
You will enable faster, more reliable signoff across some of the most advanced semiconductor designs being built today
What You'll Need
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
8 to 15 years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, or supporting timing analysis and signoff tools and methodologies
Deep working knowledge of static timing analysis concepts and signoff flows using PrimeTime
Experience with power analysis and signoff tools such as PrimePower or RedHawk-SC
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex digital design environments, including netlist analysis, constraint debugging, and correlation issues
Proven ability to work directly with customers in a technical consulting or applications engineering capacity
Experience with SPICE-level simulation tools like HSPICE is a plus, particularly in the context of signoff correlation
Who You Are
You can take a vague customer complaint like "timing does not match" and methodically work backward to find the actual root cause, whether it is in the constraints, the model, or the flow
You are comfortable presenting technical content to a room full of customer engineers and answering hard questions on the spot without deflecting
You do not need someone to tell you what to prioritize during a customer escalation, you assess severity, coordinate across teams, and drive it to closure
You can write a technical demo or training deck that is clear enough for someone to follow without you in the room
You push back when a feature request does not make sense or when a customer issue is actually a methodology problem, not a tool problem
You work well with people across functions and geographies, R&D in one time zone, customers in another, and you keep everyone aligned without dropping threads
