Job Title: FC PV Internship – AI Driven Runtime Validation
We Are:
Drive technology innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology drives the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, where smart technology and AI are seamlessly woven into daily life. From self driving cars and health monitoring smartwatches to renewable energy systems that efficiently distribute clean power, Synopsys creates high performance silicon chips that help build a healthier, safer, and more sustainable world.
Internship Experience:
At Synopsys, interns dive into real world engineering and innovation projects, gaining hands on experience while collaborating with passionate teams worldwide. Interns are encouraged to propose ideas, experiment with cutting edge technologies, and build production quality solutions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of EDA, large scale runtime validation, and AI agent automation, shaping both future products and your own career path.
Project Focus
Multi‑AI Agent Framework for Fully Automated 24x7 Runtime Validation
The intern will contribute to building an AI‑agent–based framework that automates the full lifecycle of Fusion Compiler runtime validation—transforming today’s manual, reactive workflows into an always‑on, autonomous validation system.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As part of the Platform Validation (PV) team, the intern will work closely with senior engineers on advanced automation initiatives, including:
- Design and develop a multi‑AI agent framework for end‑to‑end runtime validation, covering runtime extraction, issue detection, triage, culprit narrowing, rebuild, and validation.
- Implement agentic workflows using hybrid architectures (e.g., Cursor CLI agents, OpenAI SDK‑based agents) to automate complex validation tasks with minimal human intervention.
- Build intelligent monitoring and analysis pipelines to process large‑scale runtime logs across multiple RTL2GDS stages (FCFE, FCBE, CTS, COPT, ROPT, FOPT).
- Apply AI techniques to runtime regression detection, anomaly identification, and root‑cause narrowing, reducing turnaround time from days to minutes.
- Develop automation tools and infrastructure in Python (primary), with exposure to Tcl, C/C++, or shell scripting as needed.
- Integrate validation results with internal tracking systems (e.g., Jira/STAR‑style issue filing) and dashboards for status visualization.
- Collaborate with R&D and validation engineers to align AI‑driven solutions with real customer workflows and production use cases.
What You’ll Need:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (penultimate year preferred)
- Strong interest in AI/ML, agentic systems, automation, or software infrastructure
- Proficiency in Python; familiarity with scripting, data analysis, or AI frameworks is a strong plus
- Curiosity, strong problem‑solving skills, and willingness to explore complex systems
- Good communication and presentation skills
Key Program Facts:
- Program Length: 8 Weeks
- Location: Hsinchu. Taiwan
- Working Model: In-office
- Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time preferred
- Start Date: July, 2026
