Job Description and Requirements

We Are:

At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:

You are a driven and strategic leader passionate about transforming global supply chains in the fast-paced world of high-tech electronics. With a deep technical understanding of cable assemblies, connectors, and interconnect solutions, you thrive on solving complex sourcing challenges and building resilient, cost-effective supplier networks. You bring a blend of analytical rigor and creative problem-solving, always seeking new ways to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance. Your experience spans global markets, giving you a nuanced perspective on supplier diversity, risk mitigation, and cross-cultural collaboration. You are comfortable with ambiguity and adept at navigating the competing priorities of engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams. Communication is one of your greatest strengths—you know how to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across functions and geographies. Above all, you are passionate about continuous improvement, leveraging data and technology to drive operational excellence in every aspect of the commodity lifecycle. Whether you’re leading a critical negotiation, troubleshooting a supply chain disruption, or mapping out a long-term sourcing strategy, you approach each challenge with integrity, curiosity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results for Synopsys and its customers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own and execute the global commodity strategy for cable assemblies and connectors, including power, signal, high-speed, IO, internal harnessing, and board interconnect solutions.
  • Lead supplier selection processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP), develop should-cost models, and recommend sourcing awards based on comprehensive cost, quality, and risk analyses.
  • Create and maintain a 3–5 year technology and sourcing roadmap aligned with product architecture, performance requirements, and supplier innovation pipelines.
  • Manage supplier relationships across Americas, EMEA, and APAC, driving performance on on-time delivery, lead-time reduction, capacity planning, and yield/quality improvements.
  • Deliver year-over-year cost reductions through negotiations, value engineering (VA/VE), redesign initiatives, alternate sourcing, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Negotiate and execute supply agreements, including long-term agreements (LTAs), pricing structures, NDAs, MOUs, and service-level terms to secure the best commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and implement dual-source and geographic diversification strategies to ensure supply continuity and mitigate risks related to allocation, EOL/PCN, compliance, and factory disruptions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, and Program Management to align supplier capabilities with technical requirements and support NPI and sustaining production.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Enhance Synopsys’ product competitiveness by ensuring robust supply of high-quality cables and connectors at optimal cost and performance.
  • Reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) through strategic negotiations, supplier development, and continuous value engineering.
  • Drive innovation by partnering with suppliers to introduce next-generation interconnect technologies aligned with Synopsys’ product roadmap.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and rapid recovery from disruptions or shortages.
  • Improve cross-functional alignment and operational efficiency through clear communication and collaborative problem-solving with internal stakeholders.
  • Support successful NPI launches and volume ramps by ensuring supplier readiness and timely delivery of high-quality components.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data analytics and best practices to drive process excellence across the global supply chain.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in global commodity management, strategic sourcing, or supplier management within electronics manufacturing or high-tech industries.
  • Deep technical knowledge of cable assemblies, connectors, and interconnect solutions, including manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and contract execution (LTAs, NDAs, pricing agreements, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in cost modeling, benchmarking, and risk assessment tools.
  • Experience leading cross-regional supplier relationships and working with contract manufacturers and direct component suppliers.

Who You Are:

  • Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communicator and influencer, able to build consensus across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player who values integrity, transparency, and diversity of thought.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You’ll join our world-class Operations team, a collaborative group of sourcing, engineering, and supply chain experts dedicated to supporting Synopsys’ ambitious growth and innovation goals. Our team is passionate about driving supplier excellence, enabling new product introductions, and building a resilient, future-ready supply chain. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners in Engineering, Program Management, and Supplier Quality, as well as global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
