What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct an in-depth robotics workflow gap analysis by comparing Ansys capabilities with leading robotics stacks such as ROS2, Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim, and Drake. And achieve any possible combination of the below three objectives.
- Develop co-simulation prototypes that connect Ansys Mechanical/Motion/Twin Builder with ROS2 topics or Isaac Sim, leveraging USD, URDF, and real-time data exchange methodologies.
- Build a cutting-edge system-level dynamic model of robot including kinematics, multibody dynamics, actuator models, and control loops for both manipulators and mobile robots.
- Explore physics-informed AI by utilizing Ansys simulations for synthetic dataset generation and reinforcement-learning training pipelines, enabling the creation of "Sim Ready" assets. Then, build proof-of-concept for the Sim Ready assets.
- Deliver a comprehensive technical report, demo scripts, and integration examples to support adoption by robotics OEMs and industry partners.
What You’ll Need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field in the penultimate or final year of study.
- Solid understanding of robotics concepts in core-physics like MBD (Multibody Dynamics), Structural mechanics, Controls, etc. and in AI-ML Integration like ROS2, Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim, or similar robotics platforms.
- Experience with physics-based simulation tools (e.g., Ansys Mechanical, Twin Builder) and familiarity with URDF/robot modeling standards is a plus.
- Bonus qualification - hands-on robotics lab experience, including building, testing, or integrating robotic systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a collaborative and creative mindset.

Salary Information:
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $32.00-$48.00 per hour. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a of a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
