What You'll Be Doing:

As an R&D Verification Intern working with the Ansys Discovery product range, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing software quality through hands-on testing and validation. You'll collaborate with highly skilled development and testing teams across global locations, participating in daily scrums and product discussions while gaining exposure to cutting-edge simulation technology.

• Test and validate new software features as they are being developed, focusing on physics features and product workflows

• Assist in creating test specifications and documentation to support the quality assurance process

• Develop automated tools and tests to improve team productivity and streamline testing procedures

• Participate in acceptance testing and collaborate with global team members to ensure product quality

• Apply your engineering skills to conduct both manual and automated testing of physics features implemented in the product

What You'll Need:

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field

• Enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to university after the completion of the internship (must be entering their third year or beyond in their program)

• Experience with CAD software or simulation software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or ANSYS Fluent

• Programming experience (Python preferred, but other languages welcomed)

• Exposure to FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge or experience using Ansys products

• Exposure to programming using C++, C#

• Sharp and tenacious problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate challenges, discuss roadblocks, and collaborate effectively

• Documentation skills to support testing processes and team workflows

Key Program Facts:

Program Length: 8 months

Location: Waterloo, Canada

Working Model: In-person (with potential for hybrid work arrangements)

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time (40 hours per week, paid position)

Start Date: September 2026
