Key Program Facts:

  • Program Length: This internship will last for a duration of 16 months for Undergraduate (Bachelor's) students. 
  • Location: Nepean, Ontario, CANADA
  • Working Model: Onsite, Full-Time
  • Start Date: May 2025


 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Silicon bring up and debug.
  • Exploring enablement of new design functions and features.
  • Exercising firmware and communicating with various teams to gather requirements.
  • Responding to internal and external customer requests for specific test information.
  • Silicon characterization using high-performance test equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
  • Following and contributing to test plans.
  • Compiling silicon validation reports.
  • Writing scripts to automate new tests.
  • Proposing ideas to improve efficiency and automation.
  • Help to maintain silicon board uptime for users across the world.
  • Updating our software infrastructure using tools such as GitLab pipelines and Docker.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Enrolled in Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on electrical theory, semiconductor, and related topics. Please include your transcripts along with your resume.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical theory, hands-on electrical hardware experience, and related topics.
  • Able to generate documentation through written reports.
  • Strong hardware and software debugging skills.
  • Proficient with various lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies.
  • Experience with Linux environments, Python, Bash, Docker, Git, Excel, Word, PCB design, or Jira is an asset.

What You'll Do:

This internship position will provide you with an excellent opportunity to work with the DDR/HBM PHY lab team. This team brings up, tests, and characterizes the silicon hardware design for the next-generation DDR and HBM PHYs in the Synopsys IP portfolio.
