At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:

You are a highly skilled and experienced data protection leader, passionate about securing sensitive information in a world of escalating cyber threats and regulatory complexity. With a strong background in cybersecurity, you thrive in environments where the stakes are high—protecting critical intellectual property and personal data from sophisticated attacks, nation-state threats, and insider risks. You have deep expertise in designing and implementing robust data protection strategies, leveraging cutting-edge technologies from industry leaders such as Zscaler, Microsoft, and CrowdStrike. Your understanding of cloud and hybrid architectures, encryption, and privileged access management is matched by your ability to anticipate emerging threats, including AI-driven attacks and quantum computing risks.

You are a strategic thinker, balancing the need for compliance with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX with operational efficiency and innovation. Collaborative by nature, you work closely with cross-functional teams—security operations, legal, IT, and business units—to align security initiatives with business goals. Your leadership skills shine as you mentor junior staff, drive proactive security programs, and advocate for a culture of continuous improvement. You communicate complex risks and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering trust and awareness across the organization. Above all, you are committed to advancing Synopsys’ reputation as a security-first, innovative technology leader, and you are ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges today.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and coordinating comprehensive data protection strategies, focusing on secure data handling, de-identification, and encryption using tools like Zscaler and Microsoft solutions.
  • Architecting and deploying advanced security solutions, integrating platforms such as CrowdStrike for endpoint protection and threat intelligence across hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to data governance frameworks and security standards that align with Synopsys’ internal policies and external regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, SOX).
  • Continuously monitoring, assessing, and responding to new and evolving data security threats using advanced threat detection and risk management technologies.
  • Collaborating across cybersecurity, incident response, legal, and IT teams to address risks and implement holistic security solutions leveraging integrated platforms.
  • Managing and optimizing the use of privileged access management tools such as Delinea and Hashicorp, including configuration of adaptive access policies and secrets management.
  • Documenting security improvements, policies, and incident responses, and providing detailed briefings and reports to executive leadership.
  • Leading audits, compliance assessments, and readiness exercises to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and best-in-class security posture.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Safeguard Synopsys’ most sensitive data and intellectual property against advanced cyber threats and nation-state actors.
  • Ensure compliance with a rapidly evolving landscape of regulations and standards, maintaining Synopsys’ status as a trusted partner.
  • Mitigate systemic risks across global supply chains and minimize the potential for cascading breaches in interconnected environments.
  • Leverage AI and automation to stay ahead of sophisticated attacks, driving innovation in defensive capabilities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to build a proactive, resilient cybersecurity team.
  • Enable business agility by integrating security seamlessly into operations, supporting Synopsys’ continued growth and technological leadership.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data protection, cybersecurity, or related field, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Expertise in Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange, CrowdStrike Falcon, and Microsoft data protection/cloud security solutions (Azure, Office 365).
  • Strong experience with endpoint protection, data loss prevention (DLP), encryption technologies, and privileged access management tools (Delinea, Hashicorp).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, O365), network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTPS, SSH), and integration of security tools across distributed systems.
  • Deep knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks and applying them to enterprise security strategies.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation skills with PowerShell or Python for security task automation and workflow optimization.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, or CISM (or willingness to obtain).

Who You Are:

  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communicator, able to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative, inclusive leader with a passion for mentorship and team development.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
  • Highly ethical, trustworthy, and dedicated to protecting sensitive information and organizational integrity.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:
