Job Description and Requirements

  • Job Description:  Perform Program Management tasks for customer engagements for Synopsys’ ARC Processor Product Line (including AI and DSP acceleration products)
  • Program Management tasks include:
    • For selected/assigned customer engagements, act as the focal point of contact and a coordinator and manages all external and internal communications to cross-functional teams spanning geographical and organizational boundaries.  Develop/maintain/improve the relationship with the customer through interactions and commitment to meeting expectations and concise communication.  Plan and direct schedules; identify and escalate issues; drive problems to resolution; and identify and manage risk.  Customers may have multiple IP titles and SW tools from the ARC Product Team, in which case, management of the engagement, deliverables, commitments, expectations, etc must be holistic across all dependencies.  Projects to include customers deploying Synopsys’ newer products especially (e.g. ARC-V, NPX, and VPX).
    • Be the internal customer advocate by working with R&D and Support teams to assure that support is exemplary, and deliverables meet expectations and are on schedule.  Drive weekly activity for each assigned customer account to assure strong alignment, initiating pro-active measures to identify, assess, mitigate, and resolve any problems.
    • Develop strong working relationship with key members of customer’s team – both at the engineering leadership level and the management level (up to and including senior and/or executive management, as directed).  Objective is that through strong program management, the relationship with the customer will develop into a “trusted partner” relationship – where the result of such partnership is intended to provide a strong foundation for potential expansion of the business relationship – over generations of the customer’s product line, across the customer’s product lines and BUs, and across the whole portfolio that Synopsys has to offer.
    • Coordinate with other facets of Synopsys (“One Synopsys”) for overall customer satisfaction, including other IP teams and other Synopsys business units.
    • Be the key point of contact for ARC senior management for preparation and response to any executive management level discussions such as periodic Management Review Meetings.
  • Requirements to be successful include:
    • Typically requires a BS with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.
    • The position requires ability to quickly develop technical understanding of ARC products.
    • Candidate must have a strong background and proven track record in program management in the semiconductor industry.
    • Understanding IC manufacturing, process technology, design flow and sign off process is key.
    • The candidate must be able to organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/program on schedule and with high quality.
    • The individual must be able to manage multiple projects at the same time, recognize and mitigate risks, and work proactively on contingency plans.
    • Having experience in dealing with and communicating at different levels of the organization is also key to this position. Exceptional verbal/written communication (English/Chinese), leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are a must.
    • Detail and process oriented.  Not afraid to ask questions for clarity and know when to exhibit skepticism and dig deeper to get all information to the surface and folded into a clear and understandable format (even when working with senior management)
    • Ability to think on your feet while remaining calm and proactive in sometimes challenging situations.  Continued refinement of a customer-focused mindset while also being able to speak clearly about Synopsys’ plans and commitments.
    • Must be able to build trust and confidence quickly – both internally as well as with customers
    • Follow-through is the key to building the reputation needed for long-term success.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and  to create and meet schedules.
