Descriptions & Requirements
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You graduated with a degree in electrical engineering or a related field and found yourself drawn to the part of chip design where power, speed, and density trades-off. You are comfortable reading a schematic, running SPICE simulations, and interpreting the results. You are early in your career, but you learn fast, ask the right questions. At Synopsys, you will work on embedded memories that ship in products used by top tier customers across the semiconductor industry, and you will ramp quickly on real design flows.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and develop CMOS embedded memories including single-port SRAM, dual-port SRAM, register files, ROM, and CAM for customer IP deliveries
- Perform circuit simulations using SPICE-based tools to validate ultra-high speed, ultra-low power, or high-density memory architectures
- Create and review schematics, supervise layout planning and execution, and verify physical design using layout parasitic extraction and DRC/LVR tools
- Develop and verify bit cells, working closely with layout teams to ensure design intent translates correctly into silicon
- Interface with CAD and frontend engineering teams to support memory compiler automation and EDA model generation
- Write and maintain scripts in C-Shell and Perl to automate design verification and validation workflows
- Document design decisions, simulation results, and verification reports for internal reviews and customer deliverables
The Impact You Will Have
- Your memory designs will power chips used by top tier semiconductor customers across multiple industries
- You will contribute directly to the delivery of memory compilers that enable faster, lower power, and more area-efficient SoCs
- Your bit cell work will influence the performance and power envelope of next-generation embedded memory IP
- The verification flows you help build will reduce design cycle time and catch issues before tapeout
- Your collaboration with CAD and frontend teams will improve automation quality and reduce manual touchpoints in the compiler flow
- You will help Synopsys maintain its leadership position in embedded memory IP by delivering reliable, high-performance designs
- The technical skills you build here will set the foundation for a career in advanced memory design and semiconductor IP development
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field
- Hands-on experience or coursework in CMOS memory design, circuit simulation, and layout fundamentals
- Working knowledge of memory layout design, parasitic extraction, and layout verification tools
- Scripting capability in C-Shell and Perl for design automation tasks
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when debugging simulation mismatches or layout issues
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for documentation and reporting
- Experience with C++ or JavaScript is a plus
Who You Are
- You can look at a simulation waveform and spot the timing violation or the leakage path
- When a layout does not match your design intent, you work with the layout team to understand and guide them
- You are comfortable scheduling your own work and managing multiple tasks
- You can write a clear, concise design report or present simulation results
- You are self-motivated enough to ramp on new tools and flows without needing a formal training plan
- You communicate clearly in English, both in writing and in team discussions, and you are comfortable working across global teams
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join the embedded memory design team in Hyderabad, focused on developing SRAM, ROM, CAM, and register file IP for top tier customers across the semiconductor industry. The team works on ultra-high speed, ultra-low power, and high-density memory portfolios, collaborating closely with CAD and frontend engineering to deliver memory compilers that ship in production silicon. Your first six months will focus on ramping quickly on Synopsys design, analysis, and QA flows so you can contribute meaningfully to compiler delivery cycles.
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
At Synopsys, we want talented people of every background to feel valued and supported to do their best work. Synopsys considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, military veteran status, or disability.
