Job Overview

This is a Senior Director position in the Mask Solutions team. In this role you are expected to lead and grow a local team of technical experts and direct R&D activities both locally and in coordination with the extended Mask Solutions team in other locations. The areas of responsibility include the infrastructure system and solution related to overall system optimizations and data flow during steps involved in full-chip mask solutions software, large-scale pattern cataloguing and analytics, and coordination of R&D activities for GPU and HPC environments. From this position you will be able to influence technical directions and be part of the team that is commissioned to solve higher-level problems of systemic complexity, by leveraging multiple Synopsys assets and adjacent components.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Team management and team expansion
• Establish strong relationships with local universities and develop new talent pipeline
• Lead R&D work for components in Mask Solutions products related to infrastructure, ML/AI, HPC and pattern analytics
• Coordinate, communicate and work together with a diverse set of stakeholders within Synopsys
• Develop and present new solutions internally and to our customers

Qualifications

• MS/Ph.D. in CS/CE/EE or other computation-oriented engineering majors
• Substantial experience (20+ years) in EDA or software development in a scientific or technical domain.
• Demonstrable ability to build a team to scale and lead a team to successful technical and commercial outcomes
• Demonstrable ability in end-to-end software development with agile concepts: iteration of requirements, unit tests, development, testing, optimization, documentation
• Deep knowledge in a large subset of relevant technical skills, such as in OOP (C, C++), interpreter languages (python, tcl/tk, perl), computational geometry, ML/AI (use of pytorch, tensorflow), GPU programming, image processing packages, matlab, linux.
• Experience in image and signal processing required that is demonstrated by relevant work or project
