We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years automating the things that used to take engineers hours, and you know that the best infrastructure is the kind no one has to think about because it just works. You think in pipelines, not tickets. When something breaks at 3 a.m., you are the person who can trace it back through three layers of automation, fix it, and document what happened so it does not break again.
You are comfortable writing Python or Perl to solve a build problem in the morning and switching to DITA XML in the afternoon to document how that build actually works. You do not see DevOps and documentation as separate jobs, you see them as two sides of the same problem: making complex systems usable for the people who depend on them.
Agentic AI does not scare you. You are already thinking about how to use it to make your automation smarter, your tests faster, and your documentation more accurate. You know the difference between a script that works once and one that scales across teams and geographies.
At Synopsys, you will work on Saber products used by engineers around the world. The infrastructure you build and the docs you write will directly affect how those engineers do their work every day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Automate build and test infrastructure for Saber products using TeamCity, Jenkins, Python, and Perl across Linux and Windows environments
- Apply Agentic AI techniques to improve existing build and test automation workflows, making them smarter and more efficient
- Manage system builds, configurations, patches, and upgrades, ensuring stability and scalability as new tools and services are added
- Design, develop, and maintain development and test environments that support multiple product lines and global teams
- Write and maintain technical documentation in DITA XML using Oxygen Author, including FAQs, handbooks, user guides, and release notes
- Coordinate with the Saber product development team to ensure documentation stays current with tool versions, customer requirements, and product releases
- Build and deploy documentation packages using standard templates, adhering to Synopsys style guidelines and delivering on tight release schedules
The Impact You Will Have
- Your automation will reduce manual build and test overhead, freeing engineers to focus on product development instead of infrastructure firefighting
- The documentation you create will be the first place engineers turn when they need to understand how Saber works, making onboarding faster and support requests fewer
- Your use of Agentic AI will set a new standard for how the team approaches automation, influencing how other teams think about leveraging AI in their workflows
- The monitoring and performance practices you establish will catch issues before they become incidents, keeping development velocity high
- Your ability to move between DevOps and documentation will bridge a gap that often slows teams down, creating a single source of truth that is both accurate and up to date
- The environments you design will support engineers across time zones, ensuring that builds, tests, and deployments happen reliably no matter where the team is working
- Your documentation templates and processes will make it easier for future writers and engineers to maintain quality and consistency as the product evolves
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, MCA, or equivalent, with a solid foundation in programming concepts
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, quality engineering, technical documentation, or software development, ideally in the EDA or semiconductor domain
- Strong proficiency in Python and Perl for scripting and automation
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools like TeamCity or Jenkins
- Solid understanding of both Linux and Windows operating systems, including system administration and troubleshooting
- Experience with source control management tools, specifically Perforce and Git
- Proficiency in DITA XML authoring and familiarity with working directly in XML code using tools like Oxygen Author
- Experience with Agentic AI concepts and a willingness to apply them to real-world automation problems is a strong plus
- Familiarity with web programming, databases, C/C++, RESTful APIs, or distributed storage technologies is a plus
Who You Are
- You can write a Python script to automate a build process in the morning and then turn around and write clear, user-facing documentation for that same process in the afternoon without losing momentum
- You do not wait for someone to tell you what needs documenting or automating, you see the gap and you fill it
- You can explain a complex infrastructure change to a developer in two sentences, and then write the same explanation for a user guide in a way that makes sense to someone who has never seen the tool before
- You are comfortable working across time zones and coordinating with product teams in different geographies, keeping everyone aligned without constant meetings
- You have an eye for detail that catches the small things, a missing parameter in a script, a typo in a doc, an edge case in a test, before they become bigger problems
- You can juggle multiple deadlines, a doc release, a build pipeline upgrade, a new AI experiment, and still deliver each one on time without sacrificing quality
