Job Description and Requirements

We Are:

At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:

You are a passionate and experienced software engineer with a deep interest in computational engineering, computer science, and mesh generation. You thrive on complex challenges and enjoy designing, developing, and optimizing software that operates at scale. Your experience spans across multiple programming languages—C++, C#, Python, and Javascript—and you are equally at home building robust backend services as you are crafting intuitive user experiences. Analytical and meticulous, you are comfortable with both the theory and practice of computational geometry and software architecture. You value collaboration and continuous learning, and you are eager to contribute your expertise while mentoring others and growing within a dynamic, diverse team. Your commercial experience in large-scale software development environments has honed your ability to deliver high-quality, performant solutions that meet the demanding needs of industrial customers. You are proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently, but also recognize the power of teamwork in achieving outstanding results. Above all, you are excited by the prospect of shaping the next generation of mechanical meshing software and making a tangible impact on cutting-edge engineering applications around the world.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Participating in the planning, architecture, and research initiatives for state-of-the-art mechanical meshing software.
  • Developing and enhancing meshing functionalities for both desktop applications and backend services, addressing high-performance requirements for large industrial models.
  • Applying best practices in software design, user experience, and mesh generation research, while helping to maintain and elevate development standards through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Performing complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products, including investigating and resolving issues identified by QA or product support.
  • Collaborating with strategic customers and internal stakeholders to understand market needs, target environments, and competitive landscapes, contributing to the evolution of commercial software stacks.
  • Supporting and potentially managing interns or co-ops, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence within the team.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Advance the capabilities of Synopsys’ mechanical meshing solutions, directly influencing the performance and reliability of engineering simulation software used worldwide.
  • Enable industrial customers to efficiently handle large, complex geometries and mesh models, driving innovation in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing.
  • Elevate user experience by exposing core meshing functionalities through best-in-class UX within Ansys Mechanical.
  • Contribute to the adoption of modern software development practices, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Mentor and support team members, contributing to a culture of collaboration and technical growth.
  • Help position Synopsys as a leader in simulation-driven product innovation by delivering robust, high-performance solutions that address real-world engineering challenges.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Graphics, Computational Geometry, or Mathematics with 5+ years’ experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years’ experience; or PhD with 1+ year experience.
  • Solid background in mesh generation, computational engineering, or computer science.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C++, C#, Python, and JavaScript, with hands-on experience in large-scale commercial software development.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software configuration management.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality products in a commercial environment, with a focus on performance, reliability, and usability.

Who You Are:

  • Analytical thinker with a passion for solving complex problems and optimizing software performance.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across geographically distributed teams.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, comfortable working both independently and within a team.
  • Committed to continuous learning, mentoring, and sharing knowledge with others.
  • Adaptable and open-minded, eager to embrace new technologies and development methodologies.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You will join the Meshing Development Unit (MDU), a dynamic and diverse group of engineers dedicated to advancing the state of mechanical meshing software. The team values creativity, technical excellence, and collaboration, working closely with product managers, UX designers, and strategic customers to deliver innovative solutions that set industry standards. Together, you will shape the future of simulation technology and empower customers across a wide range of engineering domains.

Rewards and Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
