Job Description and Requirements

We Are: At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are: You are a highly skilled and experienced SOC Verification engineer with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. You have a strong background in processor-based SOC level verification, with hands-on experience in UVM, System Verilog, and C/C++. Your deep understanding of AXI-AMBA protocol variants and proficiency in using verification tools such as VCS and waveform analyzers sets you apart. With a minimum of 8+ years in the SoC/IP/Subsystems verification domain, you thrive in a collaborative environment, leading and mentoring junior engineers while working closely with architects, designers, and pre and post-silicon verification teams. Your excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills enable you to develop innovative solutions independently and consistently meet schedules. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to learning new verification tools and methodologies are essential to your success in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Understand the design specification, define the verification scope, develop test plans, tests, and the verification infrastructure, and verify the correctness of the design.
  • Implement and analyze System Verilog assertions and coverage (code, toggle, functional).
  • Collaborate with other members of the verification team to develop and execute verification test cases, providing relevant solutions to issues.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, assisting them in debugging complex problems.
  • Work closely with architects, designers, and pre and post-silicon verification teams to accomplish tasks.
  • Adhere to quality standards and good test and verification practices.
  • Ramp-up on new verification tools and methodologies using Synopsys products to enable customers.
  • Develop innovative solutions to problems with little guidance and implement them independently.
  • Set task-level goals and consistently meet schedules.
  • Work with other Synopsys teams, including BU AEs and Sales, to develop, broaden, and deploy tool and IP solutions.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Drive the successful verification of complex SOC designs, ensuring high quality and performance.
  • Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the verification process through innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, contributing to the growth and expertise of the verification team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SOC designs on schedule.
  • Improve customer satisfaction by providing robust verification solutions and support.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification methodologies and practices.
  • Enable customers to achieve their most challenging SOC design projects using Synopsys EDA tools and IP.
  • Strengthen Synopsys' position as a leader in the semiconductor industry through successful project completions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the verification team.
  • Support the development and deployment of new verification tools and methodologies.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in SoC/IP/Subsystems verification domain.
  • Good understanding of processor-based SOC level verification, including native, Verilog, System Verilog, and UVM mix environment.
  • Hands-on experience with verification tools such as VCS, waveform analyzer, and third-party VIP integration (such as Synopsys VIPs).
  • Proficiency in UVM, C/C++, and System Verilog verification language.
  • Strong understanding of AXI-AMBA protocol variants.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Makefile, Perl).
  • Strong understanding of design concepts and ASIC flow.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Prior work on ARM core-based subsystem verification is desirable.
  • Prior work on USB, PCIe, MIPI protocols is desirable.
  • Good communication skills.

Who You Are:

  • A proactive and innovative problem-solver.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • A mentor and leader who can guide junior engineers.
  • A detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills.
  • A self-motivated individual who can work independently and meet deadlines.
  • A continuous learner who adapts to new tools and methodologies.
