Descriptions & Requirements
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years at the intersection of engineering simulation and partner ecosystems, and you understand that the hardest part of channel growth is not signing partners but building their technical capacity to actually win and support customers. You think in terms of capability gaps, not training calendars. You know the difference between a partner who can demo a product and one who can guide a customer through a complex multi-physics problem, and you care deeply about closing that gap.
You are comfortable walking into a room with a partner's leadership team and making the case for why they need to invest in two more fluids engineers, backed by data and business outcomes they cannot ignore. You do not wait for perfect alignment. You assess where a partner is weak, build a plan with the resources you have, and drive execution across ACE, product management, and channel development teams without needing formal authority.
You have a point of view on what technical readiness actually looks like. You push back when a partner's business plan lacks the technical depth to support their revenue targets. At Synopsys, you will work with a portfolio that spans Mechanical, Fluids, Electronics, Optics, and emerging technologies, and the partners you enable will directly shape how customers adopt and succeed with those solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Influence partner principals and technical managers to invest in skilled technical capacity across Mechanical, Fluids, Electronics, Optics, and emerging simulation technologies to drive double-digit sales growth
- Collaborate with the Channel Program team to review and approve partners' annual business plans, ensuring they include the technical competencies and capacity needed to execute
- Evaluate partners' pre-sales and post-sales technical capabilities, then build and execute strategic enablement plans in partnership with the Channel Development team, ACE, and product management
- Assess partner performance in customer engagements, provide direct feedback and mentoring to improve discovery, technical delivery, and customer implementation methodologies
- Lead knowledge transfer to partner application engineers during new product introductions, including Optics and cross-sell Motion products, ensuring partner teams achieve self-sufficiency
- Own and deliver quarterly technical readiness reports to Synopsys executives during business reviews, tracking partner progress on certifications, customer satisfaction, and competency development
- Deliver keynote presentations on emerging technologies at partner user group meetings and high-impact demand generation events
- The Impact You Will Have
- Enable channel partners to independently win and support complex multi-physics deals without requiring direct Synopsys technical resources on every engagement
- Drive measurable improvement in partner technical capacity, directly contributing to sustainable double-digit sales growth across the simulation and analysis portfolio
- Accelerate time-to-competency for partners adopting new organic and acquired products, reducing the lag between product launch and partner-led revenue
- Strengthen partner retention and customer satisfaction by ensuring partners have the technical depth to deliver successful implementations and deployments
- Shape partner investment decisions in technical hiring and training, aligning their capacity with Synopsys product strategy and market opportunity
- Provide field intelligence on region-specific and partner-specific product requirements, influencing product development priorities through the field-factory interlock process
- Build a scalable partner enablement model that reduces reliance on one-off interventions and creates repeatable pathways to technical readiness
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in engineering simulation, with deep knowledge of simulation technologies, their applications, and their business value
- Strong working knowledge of ANSYS products or other high-end simulation platforms across domains like Mechanical, Fluids, Electronics, or Optics
- 2+ years of manager-level experience in application engineering, customer support, consulting services, or customer-facing technical roles
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence virtual teams across functions and geographies without formal reporting authority
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, plus experience with reporting tools like Power BI and willingness to learn Power Automate and AI-enabled tools
- Willingness to travel 25% or more to partner sites, customer locations, and Synopsys events. A Master's degree in engineering, experience with digital transformation trends like cloud computing, IoT, electrification, digital twin, or additive manufacturing, and familiarity with competitive simulation products are all strong pluses.
Who You Are
- You can walk into a partner's quarterly business review, spot the gap between their revenue target and their technical bench strength, and make a compelling case for where they need to invest without sugarcoating the risk
- You know how to assess a partner's application engineer in a live customer demo and provide feedback that is direct, actionable, and focused on what will actually move the deal forward
- You are organized enough to manage enablement plans across multiple partners, geographies, and product lines while keeping executives informed with clean, data-backed readiness reports
- You do not need a formal playbook to figure out how to transfer knowledge on a new product to a partner team. You assess their starting point, identify the right resources, and drive the handoff to completion
- You are comfortable presenting technical content to both partner engineers and business leaders, adjusting your message depending on whether you are talking about solver accuracy or revenue impact
- You push back when a partner's business plan lacks the technical detail to be credible, and you do it in a way that strengthens the relationship rather than weakening it
