Position: TCAD Engineer

We're looking for TCAD R&D Engineer to join our team! 

You Are: 

You are a passionate and results-oriented R&D engineer, ready to dive into the world of semiconductor design and EDA tools. 
 With a strong background in programming and machine learning, you thrive in challenging environments and are always keen to learn and grow. Your expertise in designing data structures and algorithms, coupled with your familiarity with software development processes, makes you a valuable asset. You excel in team settings, communicating effectively across global teams, and are driven by the desire to make a significant impact in the tech industry.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML methods into semiconductor simulation workflows

* Research and experiment with new algorithms that improve performance and accuracy in TCAD/EDA tools

* Develop and apply ML models for physical simulation tasks

* Implement, train, and optimize models using PyTorch or similar frameworks

* Engaging in continuous learning and applying new techniques to improve software performance.

* Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers.

The Impact You Will Have: 

* Enhancing the performance and reliability of Synopsys' EDA tools.

* Enabling rapid node migration and right-first-time silicon for our customers.

* Helping Synopsys maintain its leadership in the EDA industry through continuous innovation.

What You’ll Need: 

* Strong background in Python and ML fundamentals

* Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, etc.)

* Experience developing and maintaining applications in C/C++ or Python on a Linux environment.

* Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Nice to have: 

* Experience with GNNs, PINNs, neural operators or related techniques for scientific/physical modeling

* Understanding of semiconductor device/process simulation

* Familiarity with version control systems and debugging utilities.

* Proficiency in designing data structures and algorithms.

* Background in physics, applied math, or engineering
