At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:

You are a highly skilled and resourceful Test & Validation Engineer with a passion for driving manufacturing excellence in a global environment. With a deep understanding of both PCBA and system-level testing, you thrive on solving complex problems and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. You bring more than five years of hands-on experience in functional testing, leveraging your expertise to ensure product quality, reliability, and integrity from prototype through final production.

Your analytical mindset allows you to approach challenges methodically, utilizing data-driven insights and statistical tools to inform decisions and drive improvements. You possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring that every test process is robust and every defect is thoroughly analyzed for root cause. Your ability to communicate effectively with R&D, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional stakeholders makes you a vital link in the product development and manufacturing process.

You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, adapting to evolving requirements, and leading projects that introduce new products and processes. Your leadership extends to mentoring junior engineers and guiding teams through technical challenges. Above all, you are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence, ensuring Synopsys products meet the highest standards in the industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing on-site support for production functional product testing and reviewing test data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Supporting and maintaining production test infrastructure, including repairing, replacing, and debugging test fixtures and system integration tests.
  • Executing software and firmware factory qualification testing, reporting instabilities and collaborating with R&D for resolution.
  • Conducting feasibility and requirements studies to develop and refine functional test routines that drive quality outcomes.
  • Developing and optimizing functional test processes based on diagnostics and feedback from R&D teams.
  • Diagnosing failures in software, firmware, and hardware to identify and address root causes efficiently.
  • Utilizing lab instrumentation and data collection tools to monitor system performance and collect actionable insights.
  • Leading or participating in manufacturing improvement projects, driving initiatives that enhance quality and productivity.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Ensuring the highest quality standards are met for Synopsys products by implementing rigorous functional testing processes.
  • Reducing defect rates and improving first pass yield through effective root cause analysis and process enhancements.
  • Enabling timely and successful New Product Introduction (NPI) by supporting prototype and production test processes.
  • Facilitating collaboration between R&D, manufacturing, and contract partners to resolve issues and optimize performance.
  • Driving continuous improvement in production test infrastructure, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced downtime.
  • Mentoring junior team members and sharing best practices to elevate the overall technical capability of the team.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Minimum five years of experience in functional testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, and Tableau for data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading New Product Introduction (NPI) projects related to production test processes.
  • Strong background in troubleshooting software, firmware, and hardware issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and apply knowledge to system-level diagnostics.
  • Working knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and repair processes.

Who You Are:

  • A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator, able to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Innovative thinker with a drive for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Capable of working independently and making sound judgments in dynamic situations.
  • Experienced mentor who supports and guides junior engineers.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on optimizing manufacturing processes and delivering high-quality, reliable products. The team collaborates closely with R&D, contract manufacturers, and quality assurance professionals to drive innovation, solve technical challenges, and ensure seamless production and product validation. Together, you will play a pivotal role in scaling Synopsys technologies and maintaining our reputation as an industry leader.
