You Are:
You are a highly motivated and creative UX Designer with a passion for crafting seamless, intuitive user experiences—especially for complex technical systems. You thrive in environments where your work directly contributes to high-stakes missions, such as space exploration and national defense. Your curiosity drives you to uncover user needs and transform them into elegant, user-centric interfaces. You are skilled at conducting user research, synthesizing insights, and iterating on designs based on real feedback.
You’re energized by collaboration, eager to work closely with developers, subject matter experts, and product managers to shape the next generation of mission modeling tools. Your portfolio demonstrates a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, and you excel at creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. You are detail-oriented, balancing consistency with innovation, and you take pride in contributing to scalable design systems.
You embrace feedback, participate actively in design critiques, and are always seeking to grow your skills and expand your toolbox. While coding is not required, your familiarity with HTML/CSS allows you to communicate effectively with technical teams. Your communication skills are top-notch, making you a valued team member in Agile or Lean UX environments. Above all, you are driven by the desire to solve tough UX challenges and to make a real-world impact through your designs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conducting user research to identify pain points, understand workflows, and uncover user needs in aerospace mission modeling.
- Collaborating directly with domain experts, developers, and product managers to translate complex systems into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
- Designing wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, or similar tools.
- Developing and managing reusable UI components within an enterprise-level Design System to ensure consistency and scalability across STK Next and related products.
- Analyzing and documenting UI patterns, establishing design standards, and contributing to the evolution of our Design System.
- Leading or participating in design critiques and UX review sessions, providing and receiving constructive feedback to elevate design quality.
- Supporting usability testing, synthesizing user feedback, and iterating on designs to achieve optimal user experiences.

What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design work (PDF or website).
- Proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe XD, Illustrator, or equivalent design and prototyping tools.
- Experience with component-based design and managing design systems for enterprise products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and synthesizing feedback into actionable design iterations.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus, enabling effective communication with development teams.
