You bring hands-on experience in software testing, validation, and verification, and are comfortable working with modern programming and scripting languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing, specifying, and writing comprehensive test cases for Ansys part of Synopsys - Optics applications, including Lumerical, Speos, and Zemax.
- Creating, modifying, and maintaining manual and automated test scripts to ensure thorough functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Developing and executing test plans, participating in defect management, and contributing to testing metrics and reporting.
- Investigating and reproducing defects, collaborating with R&D teams to verify fixes and drive continuous product improvement.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of internal tools used for automated testing and quality assurance processes.
- Working across diverse computing environments, including Windows, Linux, virtual machines, compute clusters, and cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Communicating technical findings and collaborating with technical specialists, product managers, and developers to address product issues.

What You’ll Need:
- MS in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB.
- Experience in software quality assurance, test case development, and defect management.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Squish, Selenium) and continuous integration systems (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins).
- Experience with revision control tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket) and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, ADO/TFS).
- Ability to work in diverse computing environments including Windows, Linux, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
- Exposure to electromagnetics simulation tools and Ansys Lumerical or similar products is a strong asset.

You will join the Electronics and Optics team, a dynamic group of engineers and scientists dedicated to advancing the capabilities of Synopsys’ optical simulation software. The team collaborates closely with R&D, product management, and support teams to deliver innovative solutions for customers in fields such as photonics, electronics, and optical design. With a focus on quality, usability, and technical excellence, the team plays a critical role in ensuring that Synopsys’ products remain at the forefront of technological innovation.
